What is RSM-Online?
The Russian School of Mathematics is an award-winning after-school math program. We guide our students to think about mathematics logically and conceptually, building deep connections between concepts, all in a virtual classroom wtih their peers, keeping them consistently challenged.
Our unique online program mirrors that of our physical locations. Expert teachers conduct live and interactive classes of up to 12 students on our proprietary video-conferencing platform. RSM-Online is open to students in grades 2-10.

Finding the Right Level
From beginner to competition, multiple levels in each grade enable us to place each child in an environment best suited to them.

I - Accelerated Level
Often the best fit for new students, this curriculum is designed to meet students where they are and bring them to the level of international standards.
II - Advanced Level
Most students continue to this level, where we offer a challenging mathematics curriculum that provides the deep understanding, reasoning skills, and confidence needed for success from elementary through honors high school and beyond.
III - Honors Level
This rigorous curriculum goes into great depth on the topics covered in the advanced level, and regularly employs competition-level problems that encourage students to push the boundaries of their abilities. Many students in Honors also choose to participate in math competitions.
The RSM Difference

Designed as a continuous program from grades 2-10, our curriculum was developed by experts specializing in mathematics, education, and child development — and has been continually perfected over nearly 30 years.
2. Three Levels
Three levels for every grade allow us to meet children where they are and place them in an environment suited to them, ensuring students can begin at any time and be challenged appropriately among peers.
3. Talented Faculty
All of our teachers have a background in mathematics or a related field and a deep passion for the subject. Our extensive training program prepares them to teach according to our specific methodology.
4. Early Abstract Thinking
Our students begin reasoning with abstract concepts in elementary school. By middle school they are not only familiar with essential elements of algebra but can easily apply them in problem solving.
5. Mental Flexibility
Our students build connections between concepts by working with them in multiple contexts, empowering them with the agility to view and solve problems from multiple angles and in multiple ways.
6. Consistent Challenge
Students don't grow in their comfort zone. We regularly engage students with difficult and unfamiliar problems, where they must push the boundaries of their knowledge and craft solutions even when unsure of the steps.
7. Classroom Environment
Guided by their teacher through shared learning and discovery, students learn how to debate, explain, and verbalize their thinking to like-minded peers, deepening understanding and preparing them for university and career.
