Summer provides a great opportunity for students in grades K-12 to reinforce their math knowledge and prepare for the upcoming school year, take math competition courses that provide additional challenges, and prevent summer learning loss. This summer, RSM is also offering STEAM, STEAM Summer Fridays, and Math Foundations programs at select branches.
Learn about our Summer course offerings and view the class schedules below.
This two-week session is designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young learners through hands-on activities in Math, Science, Wellness, and Art. By tapping into the incredible talents of our RSM community, students explore these enriching areas while building a strong foundation in logical thinking and skills that will support their growth in the school year ahead. Sessions run Monday through Thursday, during select weeks from June through July.
Course Overview
New this year, we’re excited to introduce STEAM Summer Fridays! Every Friday throughout our six week program, students will explore a wide range of enriching activities including science, engineering, coding, art, music, and chess. We’re tapping into the incredible talents of our RSM community to let students explore all these enriching areas while building their logical thinking mindsets for the school year to come.
Course Overview
In this 6-week program, elementary students will develop their abstract thinking and reasoning ability while also learning about connections between numbers, identifying geometric shapes, practicing math language development and learning how to problem solve. Students in this program will meet twice a week for 1-2 hours to develop these skills.
Course Overview
Upper elementary students will develop reasoning skills, begin to solve word problems, discover how to make mental calculations, expand and apply their knowledge of operations, and start working with fractions. These classes will meet twice a week for 2 hours during the program.
Course Overview
Middle school students will learn how to solve more complex word problems, work with rational numbers, discover number theory, practice solving linear and absolute value equations, begin to work with polynomials, work with fractions, ratios, proportions, and percentages, and more. Students also have the opportunity to learn geometry basics, including fundamental geometrical statements and more. Classes will meet twice a week for 2-2.5 hours.
Course Overview
High school students will progress to more advanced mathematical topics, including factoring, quadratic equations, geometry theorems and proofs, polynomial, rational, logarithmic, and exponential functions, algebraic fractions, trigonometry, and more. Students enrolled in this course will meet twice a week for 2-2.5 hours.
Course Overview
Students who participate in our 6-week competitions program will learn about combinatorics, number theory, geometric, and word and logic problems in order to prepare for the non-standard questions they will encounter on these tests. These courses are perfect for students who enjoy math challenges and will help prepare them for Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, AMC 8, 10, 12, USA(J)MO, and more. This course meets twice a week for 2-2.5 hours.
Course Overview
Our summer courses will be held over a 2, 3, or 6 week period. Class duration varies by grade. Check specific branch schedules above.
Classes consist of up to 12 students and an expert teacher leading an interactive lesson in an online or in-person class environment.
We offer classes for those students looking to strengthen their grasp of the fundamentals, prepare for the upcoming school year, try something new, or experience additional challenges.
Perfected over two decades by our team of gifted academics, our curriculum is inspired by elite mathematical schools in the former Soviet Union and adapted for the U.S. educational environment.
