This policy sets forth the type of information we collect, how it is stored and used, and the rights and options you may have with respect to your personal information.
Our goal is to collect the minimum amount of information necessary - whether from interested parents, applicants, enrolled students, alumni, employees, or contractors.
A person’s interaction with RSM occurs during the request for evaluation, enrollment and re-enrollment processes, and throughout a student’s enrollment with RSM, and as alumni. We also collect information from applicants for employment as well as employees and contractors of the school.
It is important to RSM to protect the privacy of young children who may use our website. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to submit an inquiry form or application to RSM. Parents or legal guardians of a child under the age of 13 must complete the inquiry form and consent to the submission of an application to the School. RSM does not knowingly solicit or collect the personal information of children under the age of 13 on this website.
It is expected that information shared with RSM during the evaluation and enrollment process is given with the consent of a parent or guardian. The school does not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
During the evaluation and enrollment process, personal information will be collected and stored about the applicant and family for the purposes of placing the student in the appropriate class. RSM also will use the information for communicating with the family during the (re)enrollment process.
Personal information about applicants, their parents/guardians and siblings will be collected via our Parent Portal website (the Application / Registration form). Additional information may be collected by the school office via evaluation, phone calls, SMS messages, references, and emails.
Types of personal information collected include names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, photos, gender, dates of birth. Further, we collect information about the student’s academic and disciplinary history (both within and outside RSM), medical/allergies, athletic, and extra-curricular records and interests, as well as possibly financial information (to process financial aid requests). Additional information regarding the student’s parents or guardians such as occupation and employment, marital status, and experience with specific math curricula also will be collected.
Credit card and other payment information is collected and used only for fee and tuition payment processing through an encrypted, secure, third party processing system, and is not retained by RSM for other purposes.
Student Enrollment information is kept permanently.
It is expected that information shared with RSM during a student’s enrollment is given with the consent of a parent or guardian. RSM does not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
Once enrolled, RSM continues to collect and process personal information for the purposes of providing educational services to the student. The personal information is used to keep you informed about the school, identify optimal academic assignment and practice recommendations, and to offer you access to school services. The academic progress and achievement data may also be used for research purposes and to optimize RSM curricula. Personal information also will be collected, and stored (about the student and family) for the purposes of tracking student progress at RSM.
This information collection is required if one wants to be enrolled at RSM. To the extent that any requested personal information is not necessary for the performance of RSM’s agreements and policies, such requests will be separately identified and the appropriate consent obtained.
Student records are kept permanently.
Alumni, friends and parents are lifelong members of the RSM community. RSM has staff dedicated to keeping our alumni, friends and parents (past and present) connected to the school.
Types of information collected may include name, address, phone number, email, gender, date of birth, employment, gifts received, and events attended. Credit card numbers are collected and used only for donation or payment processing through an encrypted, secure, third party processing system, and are not retained for other purposes.
The information we collect is or might be used in the future for a variety of reasons, including:
